Committees


KYACAC has 12 committees that support the mission of the organization. Below is a brief description of each committee.

Active Retired Members (ARMS)

The Active Retired Members Committee shall provide assistance in membership recruitment, maintenance of historical records of the Association, and assist with various projects of the Association as needed.


Admission Practices

The Admission Practices Committee was established to educate admission and counseling professionals, as well as nonmembers within the profession, on the ethical standards adopted and promoted by NACAC.


By-laws

The By-laws Committee shall conduct an annual review of the Association's By-laws to determine appropriateness and/or the need for modifications or changes.  This committee is chaired by the President.


College Fairs

The College Fairs Committee assists in coordinating all KYACAC College Fairs and provides leadership in coordinating NACAC-sponsored college fairs in the Western region.


Conference

The Conference Committee is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing the annual conference. Responsibilities include session development, registration, hospitality, local arrangements, and publicity.


Communications

The Communications Committee is responsible for informing the membership about the organization’s activities and events and engaging the membership in discussions about issues relevant to the college admission profession. These efforts span a variety of media, including KYACAC’s website, email communications, and social media platforms. The Committee is also responsible for maintaining consistent and professional messaging and branding of the organization’s communication.


Development

The Development Committee looks at the long-term goals of the organization and creates an organized development plan to assure the funding of our organization for many years to come.


Fiscal Policy

The Fiscal Policy Committee (FPC) reviews the Fiscal Policy annually and recommends revisions to the board for final approval. This committee is chaired by the current treasurer.


Governance and Nominations

The Governance and Nominations Committee monitors established procedures for nomination and election of officers of KYACAC, solicits names of candidates, and holds the election. This committee also monitors the KYACAC procedures manual and is chaired by the immediate Past-President. 


Government Relations

The Government Relations Committee is the political arm of KYACAC. This committee serves as a conduit between the federal government, as well as the state governments of Kentucky. The Government Relations Committee provides opportunities for involvement nationally and locally. Members communicate with legislators, plan the KYACAC Legislative Conference, and provide feedback to the membership.


Inclusion, Access and Success

The Inclusion, Access and Success Committee provides leadership to ensure that issues of cultural and ethnic diversity remains at the forefront in the thoughts and actions of KYACAC members and the educational community.


Membership

The Membership Committee is responsible for growing the membership of KYACAC and for educating members and non-members about the benefits of KYACAC membership.


Professional Development

The Professional Development Committee is responsible for creating professional training opportunities for college counseling professionals of all types. This committee has three chairs, all focused on providing development opportunities a specific membership population: Secondary, Post-Secondary and Transfer.
