KYACAC's Annual Conference Postponed

If you were registered for the Annual KYACAC Conference that was set to take place March 18-20, 2020, you may have seen an email regarding its postponement. Please see below for next steps:

  • If you have a hotel reservation at the Embassy Suites Cincinnati (Conference host hotel), cancel it by Monday, March 16. You can view the Hotel Cancellation Policy here.
  • July 27-29, 2020 will be the date for the rescheduled Conference. With the later Conference, KYACACs plans are to combine CCIE, GWI, and the Conference this year.
  • If you have already registered for the Conference, your registration fee will be applied to the new date. Any exhibitor fees will also be applied to the new date. We will reopen registration for any additional people who want to attend.

Be on the lookout for more information regarding elections of our new President-Elect and Treasurer-Elect. The bylaws conversation and vote will still occur at the Conference. See below for a message from KYACAC President, Johnnie Johnson.

Dear KYACAC membership,

Wow!  A lot has changed in the last 7-10 days  I'm sure all of you have been keeping tabs on the amount of closures, cancellations and delays by educational institutions all across our state and beyond our state lines.  Your leadership has also been monitoring the various situations and have come to the conclusion that it would be in the best interest of health and safety that we postpone the conference.  There are too many unknowns, and its best that we not be put in a situation that we don't need to be in.

We are working on what this looks like for deferring your paid registration to future conference dates, or receiving a refund. I promise we will have this in detail as soon as possible and will work with you, your institution or your organization to try to make this go smoothly.

One piece of good news is that we think we have secured a future date for the conference at the same location, but I don't want to give you those dates yet until we have them confirmed.  Again, we'll send that information along with details on the next steps.

For those that have hotel reservations, I would advise that you go ahead and cancel your room(s).  I believe the deadline for many of you to cancel without fees is Monday, March 16, 2020.

I appreciate your patience through these uncertain times.  Please share this information with your colleagues that might be on spring break, or those that might not have access to email at this time. As always feel free to contact me at jjohnson@transy.edu or 859-233-8242.

Regards,

Johnnie Johnson

President, KYACAC
